From an early age, Josh has had a love of the outdoors. We have long felt that the unstructured time he spends enjoying nature is perfect therapy.
Engaging in social activities with peers during recreational therapy programs offered by local organizations has been deeply rewarding for Josh, as well.
With that in mind, we were inspired to create a venue to blend the best of both - a place to offer outdoor recreational therapy to individuals with disabilities.
Mission
To be a destination for individuals with disabilities that delivers unforgettable adventures, joyful experiences, and moments of inspiration and peace.
Vision
In 2012 we began transforming our property into a unique outdoor space for serving individuals with disabilities.
Acres of overgrown weeds were replaced with fresh plantings of native grasses and wildflowers. Hundreds of saplings and shrubs were planted to serve as future wildlife habitat.
A portion of our property was devoted to a farm-like operation and homes established for alpacas, babydoll sheep, bunnies, and chickens.
We have added a new, accessible building to serve our guests featuring a gathering area, small kitchenette, and bathrooms. In addition, a nearly 100 year old barn was moved onto our property and is being renovated as a complementary space for our guests to learn about farm life.
As Haven150 continues to evolve, we envision creating a space that is unlike any other currently serving individuals with special needs in our community.
Your Haven150 hosts are Kevin, Jackie, and Josh Zach.
In addition to developing and maintaining the venue, we are active event hosts, ensuring that all visitors have a memorable experience.
Outside of Haven150, Kevin is an analyst on PayPal's Global Financial Crimes team. Jackie's career has been as an accountant serving a number of small to midsize businesses. Josh assists with animal care and acreage upkeep!
